Or perhaps I should be saying 'welcome back'? I've been secretly working on this new iteration of D.O for a while now, and the goal was to announce it AND launch it at the same time, so people could sign up and start creating their characters immediately.

The new D.O is very much story-driven, with a complete absence of traditional RPG character stats. Players will also be able to post in most forums without the need to wait for the admin to resolve their posts, unless of course it directly involves an NPC or the like.

Characters are able to work and earn a weekly income, and if they work hard enough, may even open a business of their own one day. You will also not be required to post that your character is working, or eating this, or sleeping here, as most of these simple tasks are assumed to be completed while you're away.

Other features such as weekly challenges, perks & quirks, character points and a bunch of other stuff are all implemented and ready to go from the start. Also, before anyone asks, pets will be available eventually when the appropriate store is opened in the Trade District.

Players are now able to start their adventure! I recommend purchasing some basic equipment over at Nathaniel's Adventuring Supplies, renting out a room at Lance's Pub, and introducing yourself to other adventurers while you're there.

The first weekly challenge will be posted later today, and characters are currently being added to a new thread entitled 'Adventurer Data: Rank 0 Characters'.

Stay tuned for requests and job offers on the notice board, and just take it easy for now until everyone who plans to create a character does so.
